Create long term plans to address houselessness in a more compassionate and effective way and take swift action to save lives today. Make sure those without housing have safe places to go during the ongoing crisis.
Fast-track Affordable Housing
We need to build more affordable housing, and we need to build it now. Our population is growing and continues to grow while housing construction, let alone affordable housing construction, has failed to keep pace.
COVID-19 resilience & recovery
Advocate in real-time for all Portlanders, especially the most vulnerable - we must act now to reduce the loss of lives and livelihoods. Learn More.
Reduce gridlock and make transportation safer
Save lives and make our transportation system safer for pedestrians, bikers and transit users. Reduce traffic congestion and reduce carbon emissions. Work with TriMet to ensure our public transit system recovers from COVID more accessible, affordable and reliable than before.
Support public schools and invest in students
Ensure schools have adequate funding to set kids up for success and resources to swiftly transition to online learning during COVID without leaving anyone behind. Work with teachers and administrators to connect students and their families to COVID resources.
Restore cuts to parks programs and community centers
Thriving communities rely on public gathering spaces, and healthy people rely on access to green spaces. We must prioritize access to these amenities in every Portland neighborhood and ensure a safe reopening of our public spaces when the time comes.
Climate Change & Sustainability
I have long been a leader in creating a more sustainable and climate positive Portland. We created Portland’s first Climate Action Plan in 2009 and must continue to monitor and work towards those goals. This work should be done through a lens of environmental justice.
Equity, Diversity & Inclusion
Supporting, investing in and empowering communities of color throughout the city, from all walks of life. Portland’s population is diversifying, and as it does, we should only grow stronger. This is a critical opportunity to reshape the way we see ourselves and how the world sees Portland.
Arts and Culture
Our arts and culture community in Portland is an essential part of our social and economic fabric. Right now artists and small businesses owners are facing tough times. It’s more important now than ever that we find ways to support them.
